Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information 98.7 KDJO (KDJO.ORG, San Diego Internet Radio) collects when you visit our website or listen to our stream, how it is used, and the choices you have. We keep it simple: we run a small independent station, we don’t require accounts, and we don’t sell your personal information.

1. Information We Collect
Information you send us. When you use the contact form or the DMCA/legal form, we receive the details you type in, such as your name, email address, subject, message, and (for legal notices) your mailing address and phone number. Form submissions are handled by our form provider, Formspree, and delivered to our station inbox.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our web server records standard log data when you visit, including your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, referring page, and the date and time of the request. When you press play, your device also connects to our audio stream and to our live metadata connection, which use your IP address to deliver audio and the “now playing” information and to keep a running count of connected listeners.
What we don’t collect. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as government IDs or payment card numbers through this website.
2. Cookies & Advertising
KDJO.ORG may display advertising provided by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to KDJO.ORG and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of many third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- To learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Your choice. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept advertising cookies or opt out. If you opt out, we tell Google not to use cookies or personal data for personalized ads; you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, advertising cookies and personalized ads stay off until you accept. Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage on this site so you aren’t asked again. It is not sent to us, and you can change it at any time:
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop the radio player from working.
3. Third-Party Services on This Site
To run the website and stream, we rely on outside services. When you load a page or use a feature, your browser may connect directly to these providers, which will receive your IP address and basic device information under their own privacy policies:
- Google AdSense & Google Fonts — advertising and web fonts.
- Amazon Web Services (CloudFront) — delivers our live audio stream.
- Cloudflare (cdnjs) — serves the Font Awesome icon library.
- YouTube — the Left On Base video preview loads a YouTube thumbnail, and the player is loaded (in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode) only when you click play.
- Formspree — processes messages sent through our contact and legal forms.
- Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Mixcloud, and Google Maps — outbound links to DJ playlists, mixes, and record shop locations. Once you click through, those sites’ own policies apply.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties or of other websites we link to.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Deliver the live stream, the website, and the now-playing display.
- Respond to your messages, song submissions, guest mix inquiries, and legal notices.
- Keep the site secure, diagnose technical problems, and prevent abuse.
- Display advertising that helps cover the costs of running an independent station.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers listed above, where required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of our listeners.
5. Your Choices & Rights
You can contact us at any time to ask what personal information we hold from your messages, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law.
California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Advertising cookies set by third parties may count as “sharing” under California law; you can opt out using the Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info links in Section 2. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. You may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
6. Children’s Privacy
KDJO.ORG is a general-audience website and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Data Retention & Security
We keep messages and form submissions only as long as needed to respond and to keep reasonable records, and we keep server logs for a limited period for security and troubleshooting. Legal notices may be retained longer where the law requires. We use reasonable safeguards, including HTTPS, to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage on the Internet is completely secure.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add new features or services. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed, and continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
